Roselyn Wesselius

September 19, 1927 — January 28, 2017

Roselyn Wesselius went home to be with her Savior the Lord Jesus on 01/ 28/2017. Rose and her twin sister were born in Zillah Wa on 09/19/1927 to Jasper and Jennie Kleyn. Rose was 40 minutes older than her twin sister Evelyn. Rose attended and graduated from Zillah School in 1945. She answered to many names throughout her life. Wife, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, The Babes (her and her twin sister), Friend, Neighbor and Helper. Family meant everything to her. As she lay in her hospital bed we decided to count her family members from her children and spouses to the great great grandchildren. There are 62 of us all together. 15 of those are grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. What a legacy she leaves behind. Rose married Harold Wesselius April 1st 1948. She was devoted to her husband Harold for 60 years. She has missed him every day that he has been gone from this earth. She couldn't wait to get to heaven to see him again. They were a team. They raised 6 children together on their farm working side by side. Rose was also devoted to her Lord and her church. She was a lifelong member of The Faith Community Church formally known as The Zillah Christian Reformed Church. Rose was an organist and pianist there for many years. She was very involved in her church helping with Ladies Aid, Calvinettes, Helping Hands and numerous other activities. Rose loved to be involved wherever she was. Life's challenges may have slowed her down but she kept on going. She was a leader whether she was organizing a fund raiser, leading a Bible study, meals for house bound, leading stretch and tone at assisted living, playing cards and games, calling bingo, she did it all. One of the things she loved most of all was hosting Sunday dinner for family even when we were camping. Her table was like loaves and fishes, no matter how many people sat down to eat there was always enough. Holiday and birthday celebrations (hers included) were also a joy to her. Mom lived well, laughed much and loved unconditionally. Rose is preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents Jasper and Jennie Kleyn, infant sister Roza, brother Neil and twin sister Evelyn. She is survived by her children Dale (Karen) of Moses Lake, Tom (Brenda) of Grandview, Ken, Wayne (Karen) both of Zillah, Randy (Lorrie) Wesselius of Yakima and Tamra (Ken) Marsh of Granger, brother Marvin (Tressa) Kleyn, 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren , 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. We love you mom and we will miss you greatly but we know you rest in the arms of Jesus. We want to thank all the staff at Highgate Senior Living , the staff at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital, the staff and volunteers at Cottage In The Meadow. Thank you for your care, concern and compassion. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Roselyn Wesselius, please visit our flower store.
