She was the youngest of four girls and the family lived on a ranch north of Great Falls. The girls attended a one room country school, where one teacher taught grades one through eight. Rose Mary attended her first three grades at this school. Her folks put her in a grade school in Power where her sisters attended high school. Her dad drove them 20 miles each way everyday in all kinds of bad weather and roads. After she graduated from high school she attended Northern Montana College in Havre to become a teacher. She taught for two years in Sunburst, Montana then moved to Big Timber where she taught for another year. There she met the love of her life, John Heurion. They were married February 22, 1958 in Power, Montana. That summer they moved to Shelby, Montana where John worked as an administrator for the National Guard and then for the Rail Post Office sorting mail from Shelby, Montana to Williston, North Dakota and back. They were blessed with four children.
In 1967 they moved to Yakima, Washington after the Rail Post Office was disbanded and John was transferred to the Yakima Post Office. Rose Mary worked for 20 years plus with the Moxee Post Office. She volunteered with several organizations, the American Red Cross, the Sheriffs station in Terrace Heights and McAllister's Air Museum.
