Roland Pierre Roy passed away at his home on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Roland and his twin brother Roger were born January 14, 1935 in Sunnyside, Washington to Henri and Marion Roy. He was raised in a large family which would include 10 children. In 1959 he married Janice Wyatt and they were blessed with two children. Roland, or Pierre as he was known to his friends, was a hard worker. He cut asparagus and worked at a gas station as a teenager to help with the family finances. As a young adult he went to work at the Prosser Record Bulletin and Grandview Herald as a printing press operator. He eventually fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening his own print shop. In 1984 he started Roy’s Print shop with his brother Roger where he worked until his retirement. Roland was an avid bowler and a member of several bowling leagues. He also enjoyed swimming, skating, drawing and meeting his friends and family for coffee or an afternoon at Legends Casino. He was a movie enthusiast and owned an extensive collection of videos and DVDs. Roland was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Paul, Clement and Roger and sisters Theresa, Cecilia, Jeanette and Rose Marie. He is survived by his children; Stephanie Stallings (Steven) of Richland and Curtis (Tamara) of Pasco, 5 grandchildren; Scott Stallings (Ruthie), Siara Crager (Shane), Shawn Stallings (Maegan), Kaitlyn Roy, Ashley Roy, and 8 great grandchildren; Cameron, Lilah, Judah, Belle, Londyn, Julian, Sophie and Riley. He also leaves behind his brother James (Donna) and sister Mary Lou as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be announced at a later date.
