Roger Davis Stahi, “Monk,” 63, of Wapato, WA, passed away surrounded by family at his home on February 08, 2026. He was born July 13, 1962, in Toppenish, WA to the late Marvin Stahi Sr. and the late Roberta Shippentower-Stahi.

Monk was formerly employed at Mt. Adams Furniture Factory, Yakama Nation Land Enterprise, Yakama Nation Fire Management and Yakama Nation Fisheries throughout his years. He was known for his sense of humor and the nicknames he gave to all his friends and family. Monk was a lifelong fisherman and hunter. He loved being on the Columbia River and spending time outdoors. Monk also enjoyed spending his free time playing slot machines at Legends Casino and surrounding casinos with his wife. Above all, Monk will be remembered as a proud Grandpa who spent most of his time helping raise his ten grandchildren.

Monk is survived by his wife Winna Switzler. They were together for 41 years and married for 17 of those years. Children: Korina Polk, Billy Stahi, Roberta Stahi and Raven Stahi. Grandchildren from oldest to youngest: Daisy Jack, Tate Gonzales, Mya Jack, Gavin Gonzales, Summer Scott, Ozzie Scott, Anthony Gonzales, Felicity Gonzales, EmmyLu Scott and LuElla Stahi. Sadly, grandpa did not get to meet his new grandchild who will be born the week of his birthday. Aunts: Patricia Sampson and Julie Alley Sampson. Siblings: Raymond Stahi, Laura Stahi, Josephine Stahi, Lee Wolfe and Glen Toby Wolfe.

Monk is preceded in death by both of his parents Marvin Stahi Sr. and Roberta Shippentower-Stahi. Siblings: Albert Stahi, Marvin Stahi Jr., Alberta Stahi, Stanley Barney. Child: Unborn Son and grandchild: Luton Jack.

Funeral arrangements: Dressing held February 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Wapato Longhouse. Overnight services at 7:00 p.m. Burial February 11, 2026, at sunrise at Smohalla Cemetery (Satus.)
