Rodney Brock

September 24, 1969 — August 30, 2020

Rodney Brock was born in Hastings, Michigan on september 24th 1969. Rodney is survived by his son jeter johnston, his mother Elizabeth brock, his brother Bryan brock, his sister Cathy meekins, his nephews Michael (Emily) Brock, Shawn Brock, and great nephew and his fiancee Annie mears. He was 50 years old when he passed away. He loved to go hunting where he grew up. He was in the air force for 4 years, and was in the first desert storm/desert shield. He served during wartime but thankfully was not injured. He got out in 1992 and soon after he started driving semi trucks. He moved to Washington state 8 years ago and continued to drive trucks for several years after that. He met his future fiancee, Annie Mears, 7 years ago and they were happy together. When he was 49 years old he was diagnosed with colon cancer and started undergoing chemotherapy treatment to be able to get surgery. He had surgery after several rounds of chemo. They got it all and he was cancer free for a few months. In march of 2020 he was again diagnosed with cancer but it had spread to other organs. They tried chemo but he kept getting infections so was not able to continue treatments. For his last year he spent time with his family and fiancee. They went fishing and went on walks to enjoy the fresh air. He was happy to have family around him. He kept himself in good spirits and everyone else around as well. He always looked on the bright side of things. We laughed and cried together. In august of 2020 his mother, brother, sister in law and nephew came over to stay with him and visit with him. During this time the cancer had taken a toll on his body and he was very weak from the cancer. While his family was him he was determined to enjoy their time with him. He was not able to do a whole lot but they reminisced about the past and had some good laughs and a few cries. They took pictures to remember everyone by. On august 29th Rodney was put in hospice care at the cottage in the meadows in Yakima, wa. His mother and fiancee went there to spend time with him. It was a good visit even though Rodney was not able to talk, he knew they were there. They spent most of the day with him and talked to him. It would be the last time they would see him and talk to him. On august 30th 2020 at 1:00 in the morning Rodney passed away peacefully in his sleep. He did not feel not pain and went to sleep. He left a void in many people’s hearts and will be missed dearly by many. He was a great man and heaven now has another great angel to watch over his family. We will miss you very much. We love you very much. We will see you again someday and until then we love you. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Rodney Brock, please visit our flower store.
