Robert Lewis

Robert T. (Bob) Lewis passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his first wife. Bob was born March 27, 1941 to Alan and Dora(Stiner) Lewis and raised in Yakima, WA until he enlisted in the Marine Corp. He served 20 years defending his country. His last tour returned him to the Valley where he retired. Bob continued with working at the Yakima Training Center. While serving, he met his wife, Anne Shelby, and raised a large family. After his wife passed in 2000, he met his 2nd wife, Joanne Hunter, who he spent his remaining years with. Bob is survived by his wife; two sisters; two brothers; five children; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter. Bob made lifetime friendships and when together they could tell stories for hours. He loved to BBQ and entertain family and friends. Bob was an active member in the American Legion. We will miss his warmth, generosity, and special sense of humor. Funeral Services will be held at the Zillah Nazarene Church, 203 Miles Dr., Zillah, WA at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery with full military honors. Potluck reception will be held at the Zillah Civic Center, 119 1st. St., Zillah, WA.
