Robert Theodore DeLong, 72, of Yakima passed away 1/21/2016 at Regional Hospital with family members at his bedside. Robert was born in Yakima on 09/15/1943 to Roy and Mary DeLong. He along with his parents moved to Port Orchard, WA in 1955, where he finished his education. He returned to Yakima in 1960, to live until his death.
Robert worked at Yakima Manufacturing and in the fruit industry. He served his military duty in the active Army reserves as a cook. At an early age he found enjoyment hunting, fishing, and with sports. He was a great fan of country/western music.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Anita (Knight), his parents and older brother John and sisters-in-law Alma, Donna Zaragoza, and Joyce Simmons.
He is survived by his daughters Susie Navarro of Yakima and Diana Alvarado of Vancouver, sons Jimmy DeLong and Tim Alvarado of Yakima, sister Dolly Ann (Charles) Callahan, brothers Frank (Carol) DeLong and Thomas (Donna) DeLong, all of Yakima, sister-in-law Carol Ann Nacht of Selah, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday 1/28/2016. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday. Burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Valley Hills is caring for the family online condolences may be left on valleyhillsfh.com.
