Robert Darr

Robert (Bob) Darr, 87, passed away July 14, 2014 at Prestige Care in Grandview. He as born July 14,1927 in Outlook to Henry and Allie Darr. His childhood was spent in the lower valley where he attended Outlook School and Sunnyside High School. He joined the Army in 1946 and served in Korea. Returning from service he worked at OK Tire, Valley Hay & Implement Co. and later Twin City Foods. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. He always looked forward to fall and the opening day of hunting season. After retirement Bob enjoyed restoring Model T Cars and John Deere Tractors, and was a regular at the Pioneer Power Show in Union Gap. We will miss his kind generosity and quirky sense of humor. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Merril Darr, and sisters Ruth Burckhardt and June McCartney. He is survived by Helen, his wife of 62 years, daughter Sylvia (Terri) of Alameda CA, and son Jim (Sharon) of Yakima. At Bob’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
