Robert Cox

Robert “Bob” Charles Cox, 66, passed away on December 25th, at his home in Packwood. A longtime resident of Yakima, Bob retired in 2009 after 32 years as head dispatcher for Central Pre-Mix Concrete Company. Bob was born in 1949 to Charles and Ila Cox of Spokane, WA where he lived until moving to Yakima. Bob was an active member of the Yakima Valley Sports Car Club, the Newmar RV Club, and in his earlier years followed his family’s work with the Inland Empire Steam and Gas Buffs. Above all other interests, Bob loved and focused on his family. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sandy Cox; daughters Denise Sutton (Paco) of Spokane, Kelly Cox of Charlottesville, VA, son Jim Toney (Aimee) of Phoenix, daughter Krystl Acrea of Olympia; his father-in-law James Yearout of Yakima; his five beloved grandchildren, Avery Meyer, Ezra Toney, Cole Sutton, Grace Sutton, and Ella Toney; brothers-in-law Craig Yearout, Mike Yearout; sisters-in-law Linda Kerin, Robyn Yearout, Connie Alseth; and many many friends. A memorial in Bob’s honor will be held at a later date. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
