Robert Burbee

Robert “Bob” Burbee, 90, passed away on December 16, 2015 at the Cottage in The Meadow. Bob was born on July 18, 1925 in Judith Gap, Montana and was the youngest of six siblings born to Edgar and Jennie Burbee. Bob was proud of his service to the United States Army, and after his honorable discharge became a local barber. Bob married Darlene Mayer in Tacoma, WA and was married 53 years. They had three children, Don Burbee from Cottage Grove, OR, Wayne Burbee (deceased), and Carol Long from Roy, WA. Three grandchildren Sonja Drussel Richard, WA , Rikki Shatluck (Justin) Lakewood, WA, and Kelci Long from Roy, WA. They also had three great grandchildren. Bob loved to go camping, fishing and gardening. He was a barber in Tacoma for 20+ years and boy did he have stories to tell. After returning to Yakima his “job” was to keep the slots hot on the casino fun flights. Our home is going to be quiet without Bob, he used to say “goodnight dear” to the love of his life and her response was “goodnight love”. Those words will be missed deeply. At Bobs request there will not be a memorial service. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
