Dad passed away on July 29, 2019 peacefully at home. Dad was born on June 09, 1951, to Abel and Nellie Armijo. He was the fifth child from a family of eight. Dad went to Harrah Elementary and attended White Swan High School. Dad met and married mom Kathleen Pierre on October 04, 1969. Even after the divorce they remained close family friends. Dad was very proud to serve his country in United States Marine Corps Reserve. Dad gave eight years to the USMC. He served from 1972 thru 1978. He served in Co. D 4th Tk Bn, FMF, in Yakima, Washington. Dad was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. He served as Post Commander at Russell Barrett, American Legion Post 133 in Wapato WA. 1999-2001.
Dad laid to rest his parents and six siblings. He is survived by one brother Dan Armijo (Louise) by mom Kathleen Pierre daughter Dez Armijo of Wenatchee, Janene Hampton of Bellevue, Blaine Armijo of Burlington, Sophia Birch of Tri cities, Michelle White of Wenatchee, Nico Ortiz Wenatchee Sandra Garza of Wapato, and Angela Cruz-Garza. Dad has 16 grandchildren and 7 great children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Abel and Nellie Armijo, Three brothers Gilbert, Jesse, and David Armijo three sisters Pat Martinez, Anne Cordova and Viola Armijo.
Funeral service will be taken care of by Valley Hills Funeral in Wapato WA. Viewing will be 5-6 p.m. and Wake services will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday Aug. 1, 2019 and funeral service Fri. Aug. 2, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Reservation Cemetery in Wapato WA. Potluck dinner will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Wapato American Legion.
