Richard Thompson

Richard "Dick" Leroy Thompson, brother, father and grandfather, passed away with his family by his side in Sunnyside, He was Born on August 11th, 1940 to Ella Mae and Eldon Thompson. He grew up in the Toppenish area and attended school there. He met Dana Smith there and they married in 1962. They had four children together; Warren Thompson, Rhonda Thompson, Richard Thompson Jr. and Kristi. In 1995 they divorced and soon after he met Velma and they lived happily for the rest of his life until the angel's took him away on January 14th, 2017. Richard is preceded in death by his two sisters and one brother; Marie Vargas, Gayle Camarron, and Robert Thompson. He is survived by his life partner Velma Blair, one sister; Judy (Bud) Oliver, and two half sister's / Karen Winter and Cheryl (Don) Stafford. Four Children; Warren Thompson of Yakima, Rhonda Thompson of Moxee, Richard (Chau) Thompson Jr. of California, and Kristie Thompson Albaugh of Moxee. Ten grandchildren; Evan, Austin, Zachary Murray, Joseph Macomber, Robert Macomber, Cody Albaugh, Nick Albaugh, Josh Oldham, Danasia Thompson, and Dilan Thompson. Two Great grandchildren Brandy and Kaydience Albaugh. Viewing will be held 9:00 am - 11:00 am Thursday January 19, 2017 followed by a Service at 11:30 AM at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. After the Service a reception will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home reception area. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday January 20, 2017 at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sunnyside.
