Richard H. Jessen, 82, of Union Gap died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Jessen was born in Lincoln, Neb., and served in the Army as a corporal. He lived in the Yakima Valley since 1975. He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a soil conservationist for more than 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Jessen of Union Gap; two sons, Richard Jessen Jr. of Yakima and John Jessen of Washington, D.C.; four daughters, Kassandra Jessen, Karen Clifton and Karla Jessen, all of Yakima, and Rose Marie Howard of Snohomish; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima.
