Richard O. Blakely passed away in his sleep from complications due to covid, at the age of 51 on September 1, 2021 in Yakima, WA. He was born on December 21, 1969 in Detroit, MI to Richard Williams & Otistien Blakely Downer. Richard received his education in Detroit, graduating from Kettering High School, then self taught himself auto mechanic.
Richard met Tamika in 1996 and became the love of her life. They married May 9, 1999 starting a life together. They relocated to Yakima from Detroit in 2004. After various jobs, he found Hansen Fruit Co.
Richard was a quiet but loving man. He loved sports, especially his Detroit Lions and other home teams. He has the voice of an angel after enjoying karaoke with family and friends. He took great pride in his work and family. He was a loving Husband & Father.
He is survived by wife Tamika & his children, Turquiose, (Quentin) Keys, Techala Locke of Detroit, Step - daughter Joya Marzette, Richard (Ricky) Blakely, Tara Blakely, TreShaun Blakely, Tiana Blakely, Grandkids (Turquoiose) Ezabella Blakely and Chanceler (Detroit) (Joya) Kalia, Tania and Lexi, Niece Angela (Truth) Moore, nephew Bobby and Blakely kids and father Richard Williams and a host of brothers and sisters.
He is preceded in death by Grandparents Charles & Lena Sherman, Pastor Omstead & Helen Williams, Mother Otistien, Blakely Downer, brother Howard Blakely, sister Annie and her daughter Jeanetta Downer, & son Ricardo Angel Blakely.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at United Christian Church in Terrace Heights, reception will follow at the church.
The family suggests flowers to be sent to the church, donations can be made to the family directly or to the church.
