Richard (Dick) Lee Berry, 78, passed away on February 8, 2018, at The Cottage in the Meadow after a long, 10-year battle with cancer. Dick was born in Toppenish, WA on April 30, 1939, to Denver S. Berry and Bessie Mae Brownlee. His family lived in Parker, WA and he graduated Wapato High School in 1957. His sister, Barbara, passed away in the early 1990’s and his brother, Dwayne (Sherry), currently live in Shelton, WA. Dick served in the US Army after high school and shortly after met his wife of 53 years, Katie while working in construction on the west side of Washington State. Dick spent his professional life as a carpenter and Public Works Director for the city of Zillah, WA. He spent many years in the Masonic family where he helped many children who suffered from hearing disabilities. His wife, Katie Berry of Yakima, WA, survive Dick as well as their daughters, Stephanie Berry-Dilday of Memphis, TN, Sarah Gallacher (Bill) of Pasco, WA, and Susan McGowan (Kurt) of Snohomish, WA; Granddaughters Averee Denver Davis (Taylor) of Colorado Springs, CO, Elizabeth Paige Dilday of Acworth, GA; Grandsons Kyle Richard Williams of Prosser, WA, and Ryan Ben Williams of Zillah, WA; and granddaughter Addison Faith McGowan of Snohomish, WA; as well as his morning toast companion, Poo. Visitation and Rosary to be held at 6 pm on Sunday, February 11th at Resurrection Catholic Church in Zillah, WA with funeral services to begin at 10 am on Monday, February 12th at Resurrection Catholic Church in Zillah, WA.
