Ricardo Pruneda Salinas, 72, of Wapato passed away on Wednesday December 26, 2018 with his family and loved ones by his side. Ricardo was born in Raymondville, Texas on July 24, 1946 then moved to Dinuba, California as a young man. In the summer of 1976 he made the decision to move the family to Wapato, Washington where he lived the remainder of his years. Ricardo worked in agriculture most of his life and retired as a translator for the Department of Social and Health Services. A father of 6 children, he never lived without being appreciated and loved by so many people. He enjoyed hunting with his family and always looked forward to it every year. Ricardo was best known as a hard worker, kind hearted, having an amazing sense of humor and a natural gift of story telling. But most of all, as a father that cared so deeply for his family that he would do anything to make their lives better and always make his children feel the joy of truly being loved. His undying spirit will live on through his family and friends that loved him so much. He will truly be missed and his laughter will always live in our hearts.
He leaves behind a wife, Aurora Salinas and six children, Richard Salinas Jr. of Wapato, WA, Ruben J. Salinas (Alicia) of Yakima, WA, Rolando Salinas (Michelle) of Seattle, WA, Rene C. Salinas of Seattle, WA, Ileanna E. Salinas of Yakima, WA and Luis Javier R. Salinas of Wapato, WA; 11 grandchildren, Monique, Marjori, Jayme, Ruben Jr., Christian, Isabel, Anthony, Luna-Bella, Enzo, Elia, Maya and Mykha.
There will be a viewing Monday, January 7, 2019 from 4-6pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato, WA with the Rosary to start at 5pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019, 10 am at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato, WA with the burial to follow at the Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, WA.
