Reginald Sampson Tulee, Jr
December 17, 1958 — October 25, 2022
An enrolled member of the Yakama Indian Nation, Reggie was born in Nespelem, Washington, the son of Reginald W. and Agnes Tulee. He attended school and graduated from the Wellpinit School District in 1977. He married Sandra Abrahamson that same year and they had three children, Regina, Renée, and Russell.
He attended Highline Community College, Spokane Falls Community College, and Eastern Washington University. He obtained a computer science degree, and began working for the Yakama Nation Data Processing/Information Technology department for 39 years. He and Sandra divorced in 1988.
Reggie was known as “Tuna” in the family (due to a temporary speech impediment— one of the sisters couldn’t pronounce “Junior”), “Hollywood” to his friends and fellow tribal employees. He loved to wear headbands, listen to old school music, attend concerts, watch action movies. In his younger days he enjoyed dancing to modern music, playing basketball for school and adult NDN men tournaments, coed softball tournaments, shooting darts, partying throughout the Northwest. He was a friend to many, and though he often trash talked his friends and opponents, there was always affection and underlying respect involved. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Toppenish branch.
Reggie had health problems the last 5 plus years of his life, but was determined to keep working, enjoy life, sports, movies, music.
He was preceded in death by parents Reggie Sr and Agnes, older brother Randall, uncles and aunts on both sides of the family, cousins, nephews, nieces. Reggie leaves behind his brothers Victor, Michael, Arthur, Jason, and Paul, and sisters Melissa, Jeanette, and Martha. His children Regina and her son Trevor, Renée and Brady Carl and their son Beau, and Russell and his sons Miloh and Nolan.
Dressing service was held at the White Swan 1910 Shaker Church the afternoon of October 26, with overnight service. Burial Thursday October 27, 2022 at the United Methodist cemetery in White Swan, Washington.
