Refugia Noyola

Refugia “Cuca” Noyola, 76, passed on Thursday, October 27th 2016 at Sunnyside Community Hospital with her family by her side. Cuca was born July 16th, 1940 to the late Felipe Perales and Guadalupe Garcia in Matamoros, Tamaulipas Mexico. The family resided in Robstown, Texas but she was born while they were visiting family in Mexico. She took pride in being a Tejana in a long line of Perales Tejanos. She was one of ten children, seven preceded her in death. She dedicated her life to being a hard worker starting out in the fields. Teaching herself to be bilingual, she was able to advance to field manager at Lucky Badger Orchards in Wenatchee. Later she dedicated many years of service and eventually retired from both Snow and Son’s Produce Co. of Outlook and Independent Foods of Sunnyside. Refugia met and married Jose Noyola, although their union ended in divorce, they had three sons. Cuca was extremely proud of her three sons and grandchildren, Noel Noyola and wife Heather of Prosser and their two daughters Esther and Marina; George Lee Noyola of Sunnyside and his children Lee, Carlos and Elisha; and Jose Noyola and wife Kim of Selah and their children Daniel, Magen and Jacob. Marc Rasmusson and wife Carri of Sunnyside and their children Kaden and Kendall who were like family to her. She is also survived by her two sisters Lupe Gallegos of Phoenix, AZ and Hortencia “Tencha” Guzman of Sunnyside, WA as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She loved music and going out dancing but, her true passion was cooking for her family. Nothing brightened her spirits more than holidays and family gatherings. A Remembrance reception will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 5,2016h at Valley Hill Funeral home in Sunnyside.
