Rebecca L. Doublerunner, Hop Leall, age 66 passed away on Friday, March 29, 2025, in Harrah, WA. She was born on April 10, 1958, in Toppenish to parents, the late Evelyn Mann Umtuch and Jasway Umtuch Sr. Rebecca was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. She is survived by her husband of forty plus years, Albert Doublerunner Sr. Sons, Albert Doublerunner Jr., Jeremiah Doublerunner, Steven Padilla, Kevin George and Rafael George. Siblings Karen Umtuch, Toppenish and Ted Umtuch, Lapwai, ID.
Rebecca graduated from White Swan High School in 1976. Rebecca began working shortly after graduating high school and getting married a few years later. She was employed as a home aide through the Yakama Nation Home Base Program, dispatcher and criminal investigator with the Yakama Nation Tribal Police Department. She was employed by law enforcement until illness forced her early retirement. Her last employment was working for Legends Casino as a gaming agent.
Rebecca loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a dedicated wife, especially during her husband’s recent illness. She was by her husband’s side in his recovery in the past few years. She enjoyed spending time with her children,
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rebecca's hobbies were, going to the casino, collecting dolls, ceramics, dishes and playing in a pool in a women’s pool league. She loved attending local pow wows, dancing traditional style, and being whip woman at the
Yakama Nation Treaty Days.
Dressing services will be at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato
at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025. She will be transported to the Toppenish Creek Longhouse for overnight evening services on Monday.
On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, sunrise service and burial at Yemowat Cemetery, Ahtanum.
