Raymond Ostrander

February 27, 1945 — April 3, 2016

Raymond Henry “Bobie” Ostrander was born February 27th, 1945 in Toppenish, WA to Ray Ostrander and Wanda Lee (Keeth) Ostrander. He joined our mom and our sister Nell in Heaven on April 2nd, 2016 after a short stay at the Cottage in the Meadow from pancreatic cancer. He earned his life-long nickname “Bobie” when he was born because his sister Darlene could not pronounce brother, but instead would say “My Bobie.” As the only brother with 5 sisters the name stuck. Bobie loved cars, whether working on them, watching them race or driving them. He particularly enjoyed race car 100 from the Wofford family, and the Indianan five hundred. In pursuit of his passion for anything with an engine, he was a truck driver for 52 years and also loved fishing. His nieces and nephews have great memories of snowmobiling, riding 4-wheelers and other crazy antics at his cabin and elsewhere. His back trouble was probably from Kris running up his back with a 4-wheeler. While his sisters would hold their breath, shake their heads, and hope an accident wouldn’t happen. He is survived by his sisters Darlene Stark (Ron), Sharon Delp (Ed Denniece Steinmetz, Jay Bounds, Debbie Jorgensen (Dean), and his companion of 18 years, Wanda Bower. He leaves behind 12 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews. We love you Bobie and will miss you greatly. At Bobie’s request there will be no service. A family memorial gathering will be held at a later date. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Raymond Ostrander, please visit our flower store.
