Prosser, Washington - On April 18th 2023, Raul Villarreal passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with Esophagus cancer. Raul was born in Monterrey Mexico on March 8, 1941 to Jesus and Hermina (Lerma) Villarreal. On November 20th, 1965 he married Oralia (Gutierrez) in Spofford Texas. They eventually settled in Prosser, Washington where they raised their two boys Raul Jr and Daniel. Raul was always a very hard worker and instilled that work ethic into his children. He started his 30 year career at Twin City Foods in Prosser as a mechanic in 1972. After retiring in 2002 Raul spent his time traveling to Texas and Mexico, being outdoors, fishing, and going to the casino. He especially loved gardening. He was very proud of his children, but nothing brought him greater pride and joy than being “Buelo”. He called his grandchildren “The Darlings”. Raul is preceded in death by his parents- Jesus and Herminia Villarreal, wife Oralia, brother Jesus, and granddaughter Jazlynn Guillen. He is survived by his three children- Raul (Elsa) Villarreal, Daniel (Michele) Villarreal, and Christopher Medrano. Grandchildren Gabriela Byrne, Noah Villarreal, Emily Foster, Jesse McManus, Wade McManus, Kaelan Wiley, Olivia Medrano, Ezra Medrano, Setareh Medrano, great grandchild Scarlett McManus, and his devoted companion-Elida Medrano. His siblings- Rosalva Lemmon, Ermira Quiñonez, Lía Rodriguez, Pablo Villarreal, Herminia Rodriguez, and Israel Villarreal.
He will be laid to rest at the Prosser Cemetery next to his loving wife Oralia. A private family celebration of life will be held May 19th, 2023.
