Rafael Magaña

Rafael Magaña a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and long time businessman passed away on July 25, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 60 years old born on April 27, 1965, in Uruapan, Michoacán to Maria Magaña and Rafael Godínez.

He traveled to the United States at the age 16. Lived and worked in California until settling in Grandview, Washington in 1984 where he lived until 2021 when he moved to Selah. In the 80s and 90s he worked for Bridgman Farms who later became Johnson Fruit. In 2005 he left his job to dedicate his time to their business they opened in 2004 Tienda La Tapatia, in Toppenish. Where he spent his last years dedicated to his business and customers. You could always catch him with a smile and ready to have conversation with anyone who crossed his path.

He met the love of his live, Emilia in 1984. And shared 40 loving years with her. They built their life together in Grandview and welcomed a daughter and son.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Watching a good soccer game especially when his favorite team Cruz Azul played. You could always catch him dancing away with his wife.

Rafael is survived by his wife Emilia, his daughter Claudia (Randy) his son Rafita and his adoring grandchildren Alex, Emily and Hailey. He’s survived by his brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rafael Magaña, un querido esposo, padre, abuelo y empresario de muchos años, falleció el 25 de Julio de 2025 rodeado de sus seres queridos. Tenía 60 años y nació el 27 de Abril de 1965 en Uruapan, Michoacán, hijo de María Magaña y Rafael Godínez.

Viajó a los Estados Unidos a la edad de 16 años. Vivió y trabajó en California hasta establecerse en Grandview, Washington, en 1984, donde residió hasta el año 2021, cuando se mudó a Selah. En los años 80 y 90 trabajó para Bridgman Farms, que más tarde se convirtió en Johnson Fruit. En 2005 dejó su trabajo para dedicarse por completo al negocio que abrieron en 2004: Tienda La Tapatía, en Toppenish. Allí pasó sus últimos años dedicado a su negocio y a sus clientes. Siempre se le veía con una sonrisa, listo para conversar con quien se le cruzara en su camino.

Conoció al amor de su vida, Emilia, en 1984, y compartió 40 años llenos de amor a su lado. Juntos construyeron una vida en Grandview y recibieron con alegría a una hija y un hijo.

Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos, ver un buen partido de fútbol —especialmente cuando jugaba su equipo favorito, Cruz Azul—, y siempre se le veía bailando con su esposa.

Rafael deja a su esposa Emilia, a su hija Claudia (Randy), a su hijo Rafita y a sus adorados nietos Alex, Emily y Hailey. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, hermanas y numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.
