Phyllis Yarschenko

Former resident of Zillah, Phyllis Yarschenko passed in to the waiting arms of Jesus on Saturday August 2nd, 2014. Phyllis was a current resident at Cedar Hills in Yakima. Born in Chadron, NE on June 15, 1934 to Carl & Elma Johnson. Phyllis spent her early years on the family farm near Haysprings, NE. Phyllis taught school in a one room school house for a few years. She worked at many different jobs, but the most important job she had was being Mom to her son John. John is where he is today because of her. She will forever be an influence in his life. Phyllis touched many lives, each of us with a special memory. Phyllis moved to Zillah about 25 years ago & called it home. She loved the farm life, the animals, large vegetable gardens, canning fruits & vegetables & baking. Phyllis was an avid reader. She especially loved reading her bible & the daily bread. Phyllis had a deep love & faith in the Lord. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents & sister Shirley. She is survived by her husband Larry, son John & his wife Sia Anderson, grandchildren Tanna-Marie & Johnnie; sister Carleen (Chuck) Goertler & brother Doug (Rebecca) Johnson of NE; many nieces & nephews; & cousins. Visitation is at Valley Hills in Zillah on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 10am to Noon, grave side services at Zillah Cemetery 1pm Thursday.
