Phonsenette Lanell Mackey, 64, passed away on February 14th, 2017 at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital due to complications of a recent illness. “Phoncie” was born December 4th, 1952 to Bill and Dolene (Woods) Downs in Yakima where she also grew up. She graduated from Davis High School. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 19, 1967.
Phonsenette lived in different states from East to West while raising her two children. She always made lots of friends along the way. She was faithful to her God Jehovah right down to the end of her life and had faith and hope in God’s promise of a resurrection. (John 11:25)
Phonsenette is survived by her daughter Brandi (Kneedler) and husband Eric Davis, son Nathaniel Kneedler and wife Brienne, mother Dolene Downs, and five siblings: Premetra Williams, Art Downs, Koreen Ramage, Bill Downs, and Aletha Gibson. She has seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and inlaws.
Phonsenette is preceded in death by her husband Larry Mackey.
A viewing will take place Monday, February 20, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home (2600 Business Lane, Yakima).
