Yakima - Phonsenette Zattella Fant, born February 2, 1930, died August 7, 2014 in Yakima, Washington. She was born to Ruby (Coleman) Woods and Nathaniel Major Woods in Denver Colorado.
She married Johnnie Lee Fant November 1, 1948 in Tacoma, Washington.They had three daugthers Patricia, Denise and Alesia and one son Johnnie Lee Fant Jr. Phonsenette lived for a time in Los Angeles, Colorado Springs and moved to Tacoma in 1945 where she met her husband. She started studying the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses in 1953 and received the answers to many of her bible questions. In 1953 she and her husband moved toYakima where they both continued to study the bible. They were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in 1955.She talked about the bible with everyone she met explaining the bible's promises of perfect life on a paradise earth.Even after her health started to fail she continued to conduct home bible studies, attend her Christian meeting at the kingdom hall and participate in her ministry. All of her dear friends will miss her daily phone calls to talk and encourage them. Phonsenette was known for her fashion sense and matching jewlery, purses and shoes. She enjoyed talking on the phone, cooking, camping and going to the ocean.
Her husband of 65 1/2 years as well as her children, family, congregation and friends willl dearly miss her. Thank you to our family and dear friends for their love and support.We hold on to the same bible hope that Phonsenette believed: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.Neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore", Revelation 21:4
She is survived by her husband Johnnie Fant,daugthers Patriacia (Doug) Cheatham,Denise Fant, Alesia Fant and one sone Johnnie Fant,Jr. Sister Dolene Downs, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2506 West Mead Avenue. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family. Online condolences may be left at www.valleyhillsfh.com
