Emery
January 30, 1979 – April 28, 2026
Phillip Drann Emery (1979–2026)
Phillip Drann Emery, age 47, of Zillah, Washington, passed away on April 28, 2026 unexpectedly. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched with his charismatic spirit.
Born in 1979 in Yakima, Phil grew up in Granger, and graduated from Compass High School in Grandview in 1998. Phil received the “Beau and Luke Duke” award at his graduation for his love of fast muscle cars. Phil was a carpenter by trade, but had to retire early due to his back condition. He was known by those close to him for his sense of humor, his work ethic, his kindness, and his handyman skills.
Phil was a man of many passions. He especially loved camping, fishing, singing, and watching the Seattle Seahawks with his friends and family. One of the things his family will miss most is “the way he always had a story to tell" or "his legendary backyard barbecues at Steve and Jen’s”.
Phil is survived by his significant other Dana Phillips, children Macey (Isaac) Emery and Drann Emery, brother Steve (Jenn) Emery, sister Lavonda (Ken) Bird, brother Mike Allan, the mother of his children Janneke Emery, sister-in-law Marcy Emery, and Tarra (Brien) Clough, multiple nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that he considered family. He was preceded in death by his father “Big” Steve Emery, his mother Sharon Emery, brother Robert Emery, Mother-in-Law “Momma Char” Randall, multiple cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. His legacy will live on through his children, and the many lessons he tried to teach them and memories he shared with those he loved.
