Penny White

Our beloved mom, "grandma Penny", sister, aunt, and friend went home to be with her Lord peacefully in her sleep on Sat. Feb. 15th. Penny White (Reynolds) was born in Palmersville, Tenn. Oct 29th 1943 but grew up in the Lynnwood Wa, area with her family. Penny met the love of her life Joe White while he was stationed at Fort Lewis. Together they grew a family and settled in her husband's home-town of Yakima. Penny and her husband spent years running and owning businesses all over Yakima, and raising their family. After a brief move back to the Seattle area where she spent time with her aging parents, she moved back to the Valley to be with the most important people in her life, her grandchildren. Her grandchildren will never forget the great summers spent with her, larger than life stockings at Christmas, and all the “New Years pots and pans celebrations”. Penny was an active member of the Upper Valley Pool League for many years where she met so many life-long friends. She was very involved in her church, and was proud to serve the ministry she felt called to help start and run for years " The Feeding of the 5000" that is still going on every Thanksgiving at Davis High School. In her final years one of her favorite things to do was to have dinner in the courtyard of her apartment with her dear friends and neighbors Kathy and Sandra. Many summer evenings were spent there talking about life over a bowl of ice cream and playing with her dog Jenny. Penny will be missed by many who called her friend, lots who called her family and all that knew her unconditional love. Penny leaves behind 3 loving children Randy White (Sherri), Jana Dutcher "White" (Dave), Jeff White (Judy) Seven grandchildren Bethany, Chantel, Cassandra, Tyler, Nicholas, Imani, Braxton. 7 great grandchildren, Sister Nancy Manville and brothers Dennis and Danny Reynolds. and lots of nieces and nephews. Penny was preceded in death by her daughter Terry White, her parents Virginia and Spike Reynolds, Sister Fay and many she called friends. A Celebration of life will be held this Saturday, Feb 22nd, 11:00 AM at The Cross Church 8700 Summitview Ave. followed by a pot luck meal at the church.
