Paulino “Tavo” Gutierrez passed away on May 5, 2014 in Sunnyside. He was born to Jose and Rosalia Gutierrez on August 18, 1935 in McAllen Texas.
“Tavo” enjoyed spending time with his sister (Santos) and his children barbequing and listening to Tex-Mex music. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and pulling pranks. “Tavo” was surrounded by many friends and family that loved him very much and he will be greatly missed.
Paulino is survived by his 6 children; Maria Alaniz (Terry) of Grandview, Gustavo Gutierrez (Gillermina) of Yakima, Ricky Gutierrez of Sunnyside, Rosario Gutierrez of Yakima, Adelina Gutierrez of Sunnyside, and Robert Gutierrez of Yakima. He is also survived by; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren: Lydia, Terry Junior, Tara, Jordan, Marlo, Ricky, Armando, Arnold, Steven, Brianna, Dana, Ashley, Tabitha, Daisy, Dasha, Julie, Joel, Cruz, Vicente Jr., Jaden, Kapri, Steven Jr., Isaiah, Lanae, and Brooklyn. Paulino is also survived by 1 brother; Vicente Gutierrez of Sunnyside, and 2 sisters, Santos Martinez (Navario) of Sunnyside, Fabiana Perales of Yakima and numerous nieces and nephews. Paulino is preceded in death by his wife Lydia Gutierrez, parents, Jose & Rosalia Gutierrez, sons; George Gutierrez and Arnold Gutierrez, and his brother in law Nasario Martinez.
Viewing and visitation will be held 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday May 8, 2014 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside, followed by graveside services at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. A reception will follow graveside services at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
