Pauline P. Solberg 87 passed away and into the waiting arms of her Savior on April 4, 2017. She was born the third of three sisters, to Walter and Catherine (White) Armstrong on November 21, 1929. Pauline grew up on an apple farm in Naches Heights during the Great Depression years. She attended Yakima High School and graduated in 1948. Pauline married Clair Edward Solberg in 1949 in Yakima. They moved to L.A. and had five children together: Clair Edward, Jr., Mary Catherine (Hart), Paul Rolfe, April Jean (Ellis) and Peter David. They were divorced in 1959 and Pauline moved back to Yakima with her five children. She worked as an admitting clerk for St. Elizabeth/Sisters of Providence Hospital for 25 years. Pauline is preceded in death by both of her parents, her sisters Katherine and Jean, son Clair Edward (2010), daughter April Jean (2013), and son Peter David (1972). She leaves behind two children: Mary Hart and Paul Solberg; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed. Graveside Service will be held on April 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery. Family members are invited to gather at Mary’s house after the service for refreshments and fellowship. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents at the Ponderosa Assisted Living facility for their care and friendship these past 2 years, the caring staff at Good Samaritan during her recent stay there, and the Memorial Hospice Care staff and most especially her hospice nurse, Julia and Chaplain Dan Rogers.
