YAKIMA- Paul E. Gause, 84, of Yakima, Washington died peacefully at Cottage in the Meadow, Yakima, Sept. 14, 2013, and is now enjoying eternity with his Savior, Our Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, of almost 62 years; daughter, Linda Brewer and husband Chuck of Longview, WA; sons, Charles Gause and wife Joyce of Careywood, ID, Ronald Gause and wife Sharon of Yakima, WA, and Richard Gause and wife Michelle of Yakima, WA; 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; brothers, John Gause of Westland, MI, David Gause of Zillah, WA; and Sisters, JoAnne Wright of Roseville, CA and Katherine Jackson of Kennewick, WA. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Marvin and Sabrie Gause, of Yakima; brother, Glen Gause of Sitka, AK; and sister Sharon Garner of Rogers, AR. The oldest of 7 children, he was born in 1929 and lived in Yakima and Selah, graduating from Selah High School in 1947. He met his sweetheart and future wife Margaret in Yakima in 1947. They married in 1951 and eventually made Yakima their home. Paul was a 61 year member of the IBEW and worked many years in the electrical trade at Hanford, finishing his career as a crew foreman there. Over the years, Paul enjoyed playing minor league baseball, softball, horseshoes, golfing, playing handball at the YMCA and many fishing trips over the years with his sons, his brother Glen and his father-in-law, Archie. Paul was also active in his local church, singing in the choir and faithfully praying for his children until they all came to know the Lord. He was an outgoing person that never met a stranger. In 1986 Paul suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on his left side. Undaunted, he learned to walk again and began doing one handed woodworking in his shop where he lovingly created many treasured gifts out of wood for friends and family. Even after the stroke, he and his wife were able to travel many different places around the US and overseas. He had a tender heart and helped many friends and family members with their electrical problems over the years. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be offered at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima with burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
