Patrick Mahaffey

November 11, 1946 — July 28, 2013

Patrick (Pat) Leroy Mahaffey, was born to Doris (Geisler) Mahaffey and Don Carlos Mahaffey on their wedding anniversary, November 11, 1946, in Salem, OR. Pat passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday July 28th, 2013 . Pat graduated from Granger High School in 1965. He chose to finish with his Granger graduating class even though his family had relocated to Toppenish. In his senior year, he was the sole person from his class that was selected for an internship at a new company in Seattle, Boeing. He and his wife moved to Seattle where he worked as a draftsman. They soon moved back to Toppenish to be closer to family and for the birth of Pat’s only child, a daughter. The next few years Pat held a variety of jobs, his favorite being salesman and model for Lee Seaman’s department store. The job to which he dedicated most of his life was as Parts Manager at NW Truck Repair, from which he recently retired after over 25 years. There were many loves in Pat’s life, the foremost being family, hunting, fishing and reading. He was never without a book and had always seen the most recent movies. Pat was preceded in death by his father Don, and is survived by his mother Doris of Yakima, WA; daughter Cami Mahaffey; sister Starla McCullar of Portland OR and niece Jennifer McCullar of Seattle WA. A graveside service will be held in Zillah at Valley Hills Cemetery on Friday August 2nd, 2013 at 2pm in remembrance and celebration of Pat’s life. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima is handling the arrangements.
