Patricia Lee Crane, 82, of Yakima passed away peacefully, April 1, 2017 at her home surrounded by loving family. Patricia Lee Rieman was born in Portland, Oregon, September 27th, 1934, the only child of Mike Rieman and Valta Nadine Lee Rieman. Patricia graduated from Cleveland High School in Portland, Oregon in 1952 and in 1956 earned a B.S. degree from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Music. At OSU Patricia was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Euterpe, Music Honorary. January 1, 1973, Patricia was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, her family and her church participation were the center of her life. Patricia, together with her four children from her first marriage, Michael, Mark, Matt, and Mary Duffy, married Lyman Nels Crane, a wonderful man who is the father of six children, from Yakima, Washington on December 20, 1974 in Walla Walla, Washington. On April 9, 1976 a son, Mitchell Crane was born to this new marriage making a total of eleven children. Patricia and Lyman moved to Selah in 1975 where she was employed at Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health for 8 years and various other positions until she returned to CWU and Heritage College to recertify as a teacher and in 1990 at the age of 55, she began a music teaching career in the Naches School District. In 1998, Lyman and Patricia served a one year full-time mission for the church in the Ohio Cleveland mission and the following 3 years upon their return, were spent serving a missionary assignment to Yakima 3rd Ward. For 30 plus years, Patricia taught piano in her own home and appreciated knowing and becoming friends with her students. In 2005, she began substituting in the Yakima School District and continued until November 2016, thoroughly enjoying the students and the wonderful dedicated teachers she came to know in the district. For 25 years, Patricia has enjoyed her affiliation and friendships with member of Yakima TOPS Chapter #368 and enjoyed her instructors and fellow class members in aerobics and swimming classes at the Yakima YMCA as well as line dancing at Sun Country and Zumba at the Selah LDS Church. She is survived by her husband, Lyman Nels Crane, of 42 years; their son, Mitchell Aaron Crane, Los Angeles; her four children from her first marriage to John Edward Duffy, Jr,: Michael Duffy and wife Phyllis, (Echo Oregon), Mark Duffy (preceded her in death) and his children: Meghan, Kendall, Travis and wife, Marcia; Matt Duffy and wife Karen (Yakima Wa.), Mary Ballard and husband , Dirk Ballard (Ferdonia Az.), David Crane and wife Gina, (Moxee, Wa.), Janet and husband Robert Poppoff, (LaPoint, Ut.), Karen and husband Reuben Deitz, (Boise Id.), Melinda Crane Downing, Randall Crane, and Julie married to Les Harris (all from Vernal Ut.). She leaves behind 35 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Viewing will be 9am, Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Relief Society room at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (105 S. Hillcrest Drive, Yakima). Funeral will begin at 10am with interment to follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
