Oliver, a Yakima Nation Tribal Member, enjoyed hunting, fishing and serene mountains. He especially enjoyed his family and friends and sharing dried corn that he made. Family unity and gatherings were very important to him. He was a caring person, he enjoyed visiting his friends and relatives throughout the valley and assisting them.
He proudly served his country and nation in the United States Army. He was a member of the Yakama Nation Warriors Association and Harrah Legion and participated in parades and grand entries. He was an avid dedicated Seahawks fan and Trekkie. He followed the Washat religion spiritually and would attend other denominations. He is survived by his children: Wanakena Meninick, and Anita Meninick, sister Gladys (Terry) Squiemphen, and numerous nieces: Leila (Tim) Vigil, Josephine Morrison, Lisa Martinez, Annie, and Sam, his nephews: Vernon (Ladonna) Squiemphen, Phillp Squiemphen, Thomas (Samantha) Morrison Jr, Robert Frank, and Larry Compo Jr., and his cherished numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Oliver is preceded in death by his father, Oliver Meninick Sr., mother, Hazel Canapo, brothers: Dale Sam, and Vincent Whitney, sisters: Linda Sam Minthorn, and Lydia Sam Compo, and son, Michael Meninick.
His sense of humor, handshakes, salute and smile will be greatly missed by all.
