Norman Smith

Norman “Dale” Smith, Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2018. Dale was born to Henry and Viola (Burns) Smith on August 16, 1941. Dale served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1962 and then moved to Yakima, WA. He married the love of his life, Carla Ann Hill in 1966. Together they raised four children. Dale worked at Boise Cascade for over 40 years. We have lots of fond memories of dad harvesting shellfish, eating raw oysters and fishing on the west coast. He loved hunting gardening, casino visits and most of all he loved his wife and family. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed. Dale is preceded in death by his wife Carla, son Dale, Jr., six sisters and one brother. He is survived by daughters Cathy (Josh) Grundy, Tina (Erle) Vandergraft and Maggie Brown, sister Margaret Littlefield, sister-in-law Polly Smith, five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
