Norman Lee Dixon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 23, 1925 to Robert and Hazel Dixon in Polar Bluff, Missouri, he was the 2nd of 4 children. At an early age the family moved to the Yakima Valley. He met and married Grace Reiter on April 9,1948. They were blessed with 3 children Dennis, Judy (Wells), And Mike.
He worked for many years at Toppenish Scholl District as a custodian & Bus driver. He and his wife were also custodians for Central Valley Bank in Toppenish for several years. After retiring they moved to Goldendale where he worked at the aluminum plant (Common Wealth) where he got the nickname “STORMIN NORMAN”. He retired in 1984. Norman & Grace moved to Prosser in November to live with their son Mike and family, due to illness. Norman and Grace were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Nine days earlier He lost the love of his life after 65 years of marriage, now they are together forever in heaven.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife Grace, his parents 2 siblings and a granddaughter (Jennifer Wells).
He is survived by son Dennis (Sadie) Dixon of Goldendale; daughter Judy (Bob) Wells of Goldendale; son Mike (Mardi) Dixon of Prosser; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grand children.
He was a kind and generous father and grampa. He would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He always took care of mom and she took care of him.
A deep hole is in our hearts now but will soon be filled up with all the memories that we will cherish.
Visitation will be held from 12pm-1pm Saturday, August 10 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah with funeral services beginning at 1pm and burial following at the Zillah Cemetery.
