Nicole Meredith

July 11, 1967 — March 19, 2019

Nicole A Meredith, age 51, born July 11, 1967, (with her twin, Sydney) passed into the arms of the Lord on March 19, at Cottage in The Meadow, surrounded by her loving family. Her parents were Julia Mann Hill and Howard Hill, at Toppenish, WA. She was raised in the Yakama reservation, attended and graduated from Toppenish High School. She later attended YVC and graduated. She married Bob H. Meredith, and they lived at the Army Base at White Sands Missile Range, NM, until he was discharged. They had their first child, Desiree Lynn , born in El Paso, TX. After his discharge, they moved to Toppenish. Leslie, Michael, Robin and Samantha were born in Toppenish. Bob was employed by the Yakama Nation Police, and she worked for the Yakama Nation offices in different departments. After their divorce, Bob took the children and moved back to his home in Kentucky. Randi was later born and Nicole decided to go back to college at the Northwest Indian College in Bellingham. While attending school, she worked in their offices, and took part in all aspects of the school activities. Nicole worked during the summer vacation for the National Park Service as a Park Ranger at the Olympic National Park. She was trained to lead tourist to tide pools, and other points of interest in the park. She had made many friends and joined the church. She later decided to move back home. Again working with fire management and other jobs . She began to have some problem which she felt overcome her. She tried working with counselors, etc. Of course as family we loved her and gave her our support. She was very talented and knew how to make baskets, she drew pictures and made her own greeting cards, and made an Indian drum and other crafts. She is survived by her children named above, and eight grand-children; Talia, Destinee, Kyra, Kaiden, Kyana, Riley, Ryder, and David; her twin sister, Sydney, brothers Nathan and Noel, Mother Julia Hill, Aunts Martha Yallup, Catherine Sampson, Althea Mann and Teresa Ropa. She is preceded by a baby brother, her father, both sets of grand-parents, Aunt Cathy Hill, and uncles Jacob and David Mann. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato, with the burial to follow at the Reservation Community Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Dr. Kruse of Yakama Nation Indian Health Clinic, Drs. and nurses of Virginia Mason Memorial, Hospice nursing staff, members of the Yakima Vineyard Church in Yakima, Kay Siegel and Erwina Peterson who shared their prayers and support for the family, and members of the church who provided food and snacks; Donna Bob, Sharon Hill, Dorothy Perez, Danielle Mann, for helping family at Cottage in The Meadow.
