With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nicolas Juarez Romero III, who left this world on February 17, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He lived his life with strength, laughter, and an undeniable presence that filled every room he entered. Born in 1976, Nicolas born in San Jose, California but grew up in the Yakima Valley and resided in Prosser, Washington, where he built a life filled with love and adventure. He was a man of many talents and interests—whether he was baking, sewing, cooking, camping, tearing up the trails on dirt bikes and three-wheelers, or in the deep woods searching for crystals . He put his heart into everything he did. A true lover of rock music and video games, he found joy in the simple things, especially when surrounded by family and friends and his beloved animals. Nicolas had a rare gift—the ability to turn any moment into something unforgettable. His quick wit and infectious laughter could brighten the darkest days, he held his strength behind closed doors because even in the face adversity he held strength for those who couldn’t for him . Even in his final days, he fought with everything he had, showing the resilience and determination that defined his spirit. Toward the end he did not give up he continued to fight with the help from his son Junior and his nephew Jorden, for you guys kept the strength alive. His wife and children are very grateful for everyone who had been there including never leaving the hospital with us in his last days, you are family. He is survived by his loving wife JaNae, and their seven children: Maryanna, Diamond, Rose, Nicolas IV, Jr, and Amelia, four grand children Michelle , Maverick, Brian Jr, Mordecai, Along with his siblings Rosa, Kelly, Christina, Ruth , Helen , Cathy as well as many nephews and nieces and cousins and friends who became family. He is preceded in passing and will again be with his parents, Nicolas & Maryann Romero, his beloved son Patrick Romero as well as the other family and friends whose memories we will also cherish forever. His love, his laughter, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. To honor his life, a celebration will be held at the Eagles in Sunnyside Tuesday February 25th 2-9 pm with the obituary and shared memories at 5 pm. Big Nick wouldn’t have wanted a somber goodbye—he would want us to laugh, share stories, eat food and smoke a joint in his honor and remember him for the incredible man he was.
