Nickolas Quentin MacCalla, 45, passed away unexpectedly August 24, 2023, at his home. Nick was born in Yakima, WA on August 16, 1978, at Yakima Memorial Hospital. He was raised in Selah, WA by his mother, Kristeen K. Greif and stepfather Clayton H. Cannon Jr. He graduated from Selah High School in 1996. Nick met the love of his life, Amy Tarmann, in 2004 and they were married on July 15, 2006. They welcomed their first son, Logan Bradley MacCalla, into the world on November 06, 2006. Leah Belle MacCalla, their beautiful baby girl, came on June 28, 2010. Their youngest son, Layne Brodie MacCalla, was born on January 07, 2016. Nick was the best Daddy, full of fun and love! His children were his absolute world.
Nick started his career with GS Long on February 11, 2008. He loved his job and his coworkers! He was proud to be a part of the Karl, Nick, and Chris Trio! Nick was a dedicated and hardworking man. He had a deep love for music (especially PUNK) and started playing guitar at a young age. He loved camping and traveling with Amy and their kids. He was always up for an adventure! Nick was also a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. GO PACK GO! He had an amazing smile, one of a kind laugh, and the best facial expressions. Nick was a caring person and a great friend to many. He was a self-proclaimed Pabst Blue Ribbon taste tester and renowned leg wrestling champion. Nick was an awesome human being, and his love will live on forever in all of the hearts he touched!
Nick is survived by his wife, Amy MacCalla; his children, Logan, Leah, and Layne MacCalla; his mother, Kristeen (Lance) Ettenhofer; his sister, Amanda (Terry) Gilmer; his brother, Paul (Kayla) MacCalla; his sister Trishlynn (David) Cannon; his mother-in-law Carolyn White; Also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and amazing friends. Nick is preceded in death by his dad, Clayton H. Cannon Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 16, 2023, 6pm-12am at the Selah Civic Center. Nick would want everyone to show up in their green and yellow, let loose, and have fun!
