Nicholas “Nick” Watson Brian, of Zillah Washington went to be with the Lord 17 September, 2018.
Nick was born in Hunters Washington to Edith and Virgil Brian 26 December, 1923. The Brian family moved to the Terrace Heights / Moxee area in the early 1930s. At an early age, Nick went to work taking care of animals. He took care of show horses while living above the tack shed and he took care of sheep before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served the duration of W.W.II in the Pacific Theater in a PATSU crew “Patrol Aircraft Service Unit” as an “Aviation Ordnanceman” and was honorably discharged.
He married Ida Leesinger after returning from military life, living in the Satus area. They had four boys: Charles, Donald, Ron, and Virgil. Nick and his family moved to Zillah in 1952. Nick soon took a job at the Big Y, Stokely-Van Camp, eventually becoming a self-taught refrigeration engineer, working there until 1986. His wife, Ida, passed away 23 October, 1955. Nick married Lois Hiatt Rogers 11 August, 1959. Lois had three children: Cindy, Ron, and Mike. Lois and Nick purchased a home in Zillah where they raised their children.
Nick loved many things, his family, raising cattle, riding horses, painting, fishing, mowing his lawn, but the thing he loved the most was his God and Creator. He loved reading, memorizing, and discussing Holy Scripture with anyone, and everyone. Nick was an ambitious man, always working hard to keep his place looking nice and well kept.
Nick was preceded in death by his first wife Ida, son Virgil, son Donald, and son Ron, his parents, one sister, two brothers, and two grandsons. He is survived by his wife, Lois, his children, Charles “Pat” Brian (Mary), Cindy Adkisson (Bob), Ron Rogers (Debbie), Mike Rogers (Teri), sister Irene, 17 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.
