Natalie Fowler

January 31, 1938 — January 28, 2015

Natalie Marie (Smith) Fowler and her twin Nettie May Smith were born January 31, 1938 in Snoqualmie, WA to Guy R and Merriel D Smith. Her twin Nettie did not survive birth. Natalie passed on to God’s Glory on Wednesday January 28, 2015, at the age of 76 in Yakima, WA.   Natalie met the love of her life, David J Fowler in 1954 by the match making of their parents. They were married February 11, 1955. She was a domestic diva before it was a popular term. She wore many hats: daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, “Gigi”, aunt, cook, seamstress, chaperone, group leader to kid’s activities, craftier than Martha Stewart, cookie maker, candy fancier, cab driver to kids, choir member, baby sitter and friend to all. She made a color into a greeting with “Yellow!” when she answered the phone.  She was a giver and would give of anything-to everyone even if she did not have it to give.   David and Natalie were blessed with five children: Arthur, Davina, Matthew, Lorinda and Angelica. They were also blessed with 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Natalie leaves behind her three daughters, Davina (Clarence) Leach, Lorinda (Terry Howell) Fowler, Angelica (Peter) Williams;  brothers, David (Mary) Smith, Charles (Karen) Smith; Sister, Katherine Lopez; sisters-in-law, Shirley Munson and Juanita Borja and son-in-love Murray Bowden. Natalie was preceded in death by her parents, her Love David, her two sons and her sister Bernice Lowell.   In 1974 Natalie and David took the step of faith making Jesus Christ their Lord and Saviour, having a solid faith and assurance of eternal salvation.   Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 3rd from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home, in Yakima. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4th at 11:00 am at the Old Town Gateway Assembly of God in Union Gap.  Graveside service to follow at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima. A potluck gathering will be at the church following services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Women’s Ministry at the church or the homeless mission of your choice, because she ministered to the homeless of Yakima.
