About the early years in Mabton she said “we had little to no money but always had FUN”: going to dances, playing cards with friends, drink coffee & visiting with friends who dropped by and attending the “ballgames” & sports activities of the children. Among her other activities she enjoyed: Eastern Star, the Bowling Team, long time School Board Member & President, work as Sales Clerk at J. C. Penny in Sunnyside for 13 years and various school functions with the children. In 1972 Nadene and Fox purchase a cattle ranch in Curlew, WA where they quickly gained many more lifelong friends. They thoroughly enjoyed their time, friends and ranching in Curlew until they retired in 1994 and moved to Grandview WA to be near their children, grandchildren and old friends. In the move to Grandview was when Nadene discovered the Seattle Mariners and became a passionate fan following their every move and rarely missing a game on television until her death. Though out their lives they kept in contact with the many friends they had made through the years. After her husband passed away, Nadene moved to Sun Terrace in Prosser where she made many friends again and living her until her passing away.
