Myrl Easton

March 5, 1918 — June 10, 2018

Myrl Arthur Easton of Zillah passed away on June 10, 2018. Myrl was born to Ora & Emily Seaman Easton on March 5, 1918 in Cambridge, NE. He received his education in NE, then moved to ID and later to WA. He married Vera Toland on Sept 29, 1940. He farmed and did custom work throughout the valley and also worked at U&I Sugar Factory. Myrl was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was active in church work. He was known for his friendliness and sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make everyone laugh. He leaves a vacant spot in the lives of his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Myrl is survived by his 3 children, daughters Joyce (Ron) Barnes of Zillah and Connie Greenough of Moxee, and son Stephen (Janet) Easton of Yakima. Myrl & Vera cared for several foster children as well. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren and several neices and nephews. On March 4, 2018 over 100 family members and friends gathered to help Myrl celebrate his 100th Birthday. It was a great day! What a blessing that he had many occasions to enjoy the little ones in our family to the 4th and 5th generation. He was delighted when his youngest great great grandson was named Isaac Myrl Barnes in his honor and a year earlier when Vera Katherine Easton was born. (Myrl and Vera live on!) Myrl was preceded in death by his wife Vera in 2014. They enjoyed 73 years living, loving and working together on their farm in Zillah. Also preceding him in death were his Mother & Father, 4 sisters (Clara, Nellie, Lillian & Esther) and 2 brothers (twins Ora & Orvie). A special thank you to granddaughters Traci and Trista for their loving care of Grandpa, and to great granddaughter Tawny Joy, 'you were the light of his life.' We are thankful for the people at LandMark who truly cared for him. Visitation will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4 to 6pm. Memorial service will be Saturday, June 16 at 9:30 at the Zillah Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Union Gospel Mission or Zillah Church of the Nazarene. Daddy, you waited a long time to hear, "Well done, good & faithful servant!" Now you are Home!
