Myles Lamuel "Pogo" Pebeahsy, 65, deceased July 5, 2017, and was born in Lawton, Oklahoma May 18, 1952. He was an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation. He was raised all his young life in the Cache, Lawton, and Anadarko areas. He was born to Charles Pebeahsy Sr. and Darlene Caley. He was raised by his grandmother Helen Stephenson, and was named after grandfather Lamuel Nahdayakah, and his uncle Myles Stephenson Sr. He grew into a young man attending Riverside Indian School, and also Ft. Sill Indian School. His most avid memories were playing football and running track with his older brother Charles Pebeahsy Jr. He earned a scholarship to play football for Haskell Indian University, in Lawrence Kansas. While he was at Haskell he learned the trade of Silversmithing, and he made jewelry for 45 years. He was proud of his trade and he loved how it provided for his family. Myles won numerous Best-In-Show and 1st place awards for his craft. Myles soon made his way to the Northwest on the Yakama Indian Reservation with his first wife Constance (Connie) Jim, where he raised his two older girls; Diane and Robyn. He then worked for Fort Simco Job Corps where he met his wife Karen Olney, and he worked there for 18 years, where he retired and bought a home and loved the rest of his years in White Swan where he raised his two daughter Desiree and Nichole. He worked for Mt. Adams School district as a custodian and also for the Yakama Nation Cultural Center for facility management. He grew to have many friends everywhere he went. He often missed Oklahoma and his family there. Myles also enjoyed playing pool, going to the mountains picking huckleberries, hunting, and barbecuing. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He survived by his wife of 27 years Karen Olney-Pebeahsy, his 4 daughters Diane (Michael), Robyn, Desiree (Kalan), and Nichole (Anthony). His dog Hoss Man, Boss Man Pebeahsy. His 5 grandchildren, Carmen Selam, Eric Pebeahsy, Helen Beauty, and Reed Von, Monet Winter Teeters. His Siblings Charlene Pebeahsy of Anadarko, and Kilbrent Stephenson of Anadarko. He proceeds on death by his mother Darlene Caley, his father Charles Pebeahsy Sr, his brother, Charles Pebeahsy Jr., sisters Thursa Pebeahsy, and Margo Pebeahsy. The family would like to give thanks to the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center in Zillah, WA for all of their time and support.
Viewing and visitation will be held 6:00PM Friday July 7, 2017 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato, Funeral services will be held 8:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato followed by graveside services at the Reservation Cemetery in Wapato on West Wapato Rd.
