Millie Sweowat

Millie Jo Wesley Sweowat, 56, passed away at her home peacefully surrounded by family on January 11, 2020. She was born on December 26, 1963 at Toppenish hospital to Cecil N. Wesley Sr. and Rosita Jim Wesley. She was raised and grew up in many different places with her grandma Maggie, her aunts and cousins. She attended school in Wapato and tribal school. It was then she met the love of her life and father of her children, James Sweowat. They raised their children in Granger and White Swan. Millie leaves behind her husband James and 4 children. Maggie (Michael), Louis Sweowat, Eli Sweowat, and Brandon Sweowat. One grandchild Nathaniel Vega. Along with adopted children and grandkids. Her sisters, Cecelia (Eddie), Marlene, Elizabeth, and Jenny. Two brothers Cecil Jr, and William. Millie will forever be remembered for taking care of other children and her infectious laugh and smile. To all those she met she touched each and every one of them. Dressing will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah on January 14th at 2pm, overnight services to follow at the Toppenish Longhouse starting at 7pm. Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 15th at sunrise at Toppenish Creek Cemetery.
