Miguel Garcia

December 23, 2003 — February 7, 2022

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, grandchild, nephew, cousin and great friend Miguel Ángel Garcia on Monday, February 7, 2022. Miguel was born on December 23, 2003 in Sunnyside,WA Miguelito, as he was lovingly called by his family, was well known for his charismatic heart. His smile illuminated any room and his competitive spirit elevated those around him. He has left a lasting impression that will echo in our hearts and in our souls. A talented athlete, who enjoyed sharing his God given talents to local soccer leagues, Central Washington Sounders Academy, and Evergreen Premier League Yakima United FC. A senior at SHS, Miguel took pride in playing for the same soccer program that his father excelled in. As a Grizzly, he enjoyed contributing athletically to the soccer, wrestling and football programs. He had recently signed a letter of intent to attend CBC and take his athletic abilities to the next level, while in pursuit of his collegiate degree. He built meaningful friendships at YV-Tech while pursuing a career in welding. In addition to his athletic and academic disciplines, Miguel had a strong work ethic and displayed this by maintaining a part-time position at Domino’s Pizza in Sunnyside for the past 2 years. Miguel cherished his family time and looked forward to family vacations to the Oregon Coast, camping under the stars, and bringing his competitive nature to all family events such as volleyball, kickball, telestrations, Dance Central and charades. Miguel’s appetite for life extended past sports and academics, and into his mother’s home cooked meals; most notably her rice, which he maintained was his favorite dish. He was an active member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic church, where his faith influenced him to give back to the community through volunteering his time landscaping, creating the Sunnyside Christmas Lighted Farm Implement Youth Group parade float and visiting the elderly. His presence and soft-spoken manner reached many hearts and will be missed by all who loved him. Miguel is survived by his loving parents Ceveriano and Elizabeth Garcia (Ramos), beloved sisters Mia and Maya; paternal grandparents Seberiano and Adela Garcia, maternal grandparents Ignacio and Maria Ramos, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He will forever be missed and leaves an enormous void in our lives. We are thankful to God for the short 18 years we spent making countless memories. Our faith that one day we will see him again give us strength. Thank you for your continuous prayers. May his soul rest in peace. Viewing and visitation will be on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at the Valley Hills Funeral Home, in Sunnyside, WA.
