Michael Phelps

In the evening of January 25, 2023, Michael Scott Phelps, (Mike) went to join our Lord. Born May 1, 1944, he spent his entire life in the Yakima Valley, as a small orchardist, and also as a Washington State Patrol Dispatcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Marion Phelps. Mike is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Sandra Phelps, two sons, Michael Scott and Shawn Christian, along with four granddaughters, Katie, Rylee, Rebecca, and Alyssa Phelps, one grandson, Connor Phelps, and a great granddaughter, Zoey Lynn. He is also survived by his three sisters, Sidney (Skip) Nester, of Washington, D.C., Sandra Hill of Port, Angeles, WA, and Michelle Nelson of Issaquah, WA. Mike was a devoted husband, father and an amazing grandfather. He will be missed greatly. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023 at Peace Lutheran Church (91 Wernex Loop Rd) in Selah, Wa. Service will begin at 1pm with a small luncheon to follow.
