Maxiene May Coleman passed away Saturday December 1st, 2018. She was 83 years old. Maxiene was born May 16th, 1935 to Roy Elliott and Anabelle Paxton in Montrose, Colorado. Her hometown was Telluride, Colorado but she was a resident of Yakima, WA most of her life. She married the love of her life Harvey Coleman and had two children, Cindy Meyers and Mike Coleman. Maxiene worked as a Medical Assistant for a hospital in Redding, CA until Harvey was transfered to Yakima to manage Yakima Door Co. She was a homemaker until Cindy and Mike started school. She then became a parapro at Garfield Elementary and later on at Mc Clure Elementary. Harvey passed away in 1985 and a couple years later she met a man named Tom Hughes. Tom was in construction and built her the home she lived in for the past thirty-some years. Tom passed away in a car accident. She then met Richard Halsey and they were together for 20 years until Richard passed away in 2016 to cancer. Maxiene enjoyed spending time with her friends, going to lunch and being a part of the Red Hat club. She loved her desserts. She loved to go to Legends Casino to gamble but would only allow herself to spend $20. She loved yard sales and bargain shopping and still managed to have the first nickle she ever made. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Coleman, Tom Hughes, Richard Halsey, her sister Noriene Douglas and brother Brian Elliott. She is survived by her daughter Cindy Meyers, her son and daugher in-law Mike and Laurie Coleman, her grandchildren, Jayme & Ryan Quinnell, Amy Meyers and Coy Rogers, Matt Meyers, Angela Brown and Michelle Brown, her great grandchildren, Valyn Meyers, Parker and Paige Quinnell, and Chase and Dylon St. George. Also many wonderful friends and her dog buffy who she loved very much. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 8th at Valley Hills Funeral Home. 2600 Business Ln. Yakima, WA 98901. Reception to follow. The family would like to also thank RiverView Manor for all the love and support they gave Mom while she was a resident with them.
