Matthew Hopwood

On August 19, 2013, Matt passed away as a result of his injuries from an accident in Yakima, WA. He was born on November 10, 1971 in Spokane WA to Samuel and Jackie Hopwood. As a youngster, Matt loved to fish, camp and sit around the campfire and tell stories. Matt graduated from Kamiakin H.S. in 1990 where he learned to love the culinary arts. He later met and married Anna Prentiss and they had two beautiful girls, Savannah and Sarah. Matt had a kind heart and would drop everything to help a friend in need. He liked to see people happy and always liked to put a smile on people’s faces. He was patient, loving, easy-going and kind to all those around him. He was very artistic and a talented wood carver. Matt is survived by his daughters, Savannah and Sarah Hopwood of Sandpoint Idaho, his father Sam (Chris)Hopwood of Kennewick, his mother Jackie (Lyle) Baker of Yakima, his brother Joe Hopwood of Naches, his two step-sisters Denise Brimmer-Rosenblum and Amy Hunt both of Kennewick, his maternal grandparents Grover and Hermie Fish of Yakima, uncle Jim (Lynn) Hopwood of Prosser, aunt Willie (Len) Hannaman of Sandpoint, Idaho, uncle Bud (Nancy) Fish of Kennewick, aunt Jan (Rashad) Karastan of Bothel and numerous nieces and nephews.
