Mary Ellen Pimms, 76 years of age and of White Swan, Washington, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 in her home.
She was born May 12, 1941 in Gresham, Oregon, the daughter of Charles Wyman Sr. and Margaret Arquette Wyman.
She attended school at the White Swan Mission and Chemewa Indian School, Salem, Oregon.
On November 11, 1958, she married the love of her life, Oliver B. Pimms Sr.
In her spare time, she enjoyed beading, basketry, root digging, berry picking, gardening, canning making jerky, drying fish, and making pies. She enjoyed hosting many family birthdays and holiday celebrating dinners in her home.
She was known to open her home to many in the White Swan community.
Her sons, Robert Pimms of Wapato, Wash. and Oliver Pimms Jr. of White Swan, Wash, her daughters, Denise Pimms Yallup, Bonnie Pimms, both of Toppenish, Wash., Laura Pimms of Granger, Wash. and Angela Pimms of White Swan, Wash., 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, all survive Mary.
Her parents and her husband, Oliver Pimms Sr., her daughter, Deanna Pimms Smartlowit, and three grandchildren, all preceded Mary in death.
Rosary Service will be in the Valley Hills Funeral Home at Wapato, Wash. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Church, White Swan, Wash. Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 10:00 am with interment in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetary, White Swan, Wash.
