Mary Johnston

Feb. 16, 2016 at 3:15 a.m. Mary reached her heavenly home. She was born Jan. 12, 1929 in Neb. The family moved to a farm in eastern Mont. when she was 5 mos. old. Following graduation from Richey High School she went on to graduate from St. Paul Bible College, St. Paul, Minn. There she had a roommate, Jeanette Gardner, who remained a lifelong friend, sending her many uplifting cards. In 1957 she went to New York to enter her life’s work as a missionary to children with Bible Christian Union Youth Ministries, serving for over 50 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Katie Johnston, brothers Dave, Eugene and Lawrence, sisters Ruth and Marjorie. She leaves 2 brothers, Johnnie of Poplar, Mt. and Ruben of Yakima, Wa. She also leaves 2 sisters, Helen Hoffman of Richey, Mt. and Ella Anderson of Seneca, S.C. Many nieces and nephews will long remember her sending them birthday cards. She also has many great nieces and nephews. Her last outing was to her great grand nephew’s basketball game. For the past 4 years she has been living with her brother Ruben and family. She enjoyed her chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, and cows. Her garden and helping canning fulfilled her days. She is special to us all.
